History and Background

Wuyi Mountain, located in Fujian Province, China, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its unique natural landscapes and profound tea culture. With a history spanning over 1,000 years, Wuyi tea has been cherished by tea connoisseurs worldwide.

Tea Varieties

Da Hong Pao (Big Red Robe)

The most famous Wuyi rock tea, known as the "King of Teas". It has a rich, mellow flavor with floral and fruity notes.

Shui Xian (Narcissus)

A popular variety with a long-lasting aroma and a smooth, sweet taste.

Rou Gui (Cassia)

Characterized by its distinct cinnamon-like fragrance and a bold, robust flavor.

Production Process

Wuyi rock tea undergoes a complex production process, including withering, rolling, fermentation, roasting, and sorting. The roasting process is particularly crucial, as it gives the tea its unique smoky and caramelized flavors.

Tea Ceremony

Wuyi tea is traditionally brewed in a small clay teapot using spring water. The tea is sipped slowly to appreciate its layers of flavor and aroma. It is often paired with dim sum or other light snacks to enhance the tasting experience.
