The Old Town of Lijiang, built in the late Song Dynasty and early Yuan Dynasty, is located on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau and covers an area of 7.279 square kilometers. The streets within the Old Town of Lijiang are built along the mountains and rivers, paved with red breccia.
